contents: The first printing manual appeared in London in 1683. Onthe left is a portrait of Laurens Jansz Coster, printed after his monumental statue in Haarlem. Moxon, who had learned the printing craft in Holland, elaborately discusses in this manual everything related to printing such as the design of books, cutting and casting letters, composing and printing and also bookbinding and the organisation of a printing house.
