contents: Halcyon is the finest magazine for the lovers of the art of books, printing, and prints ever made in the Netherlands. It was meant to be an international periodical, and was published by A.A.M. Stols (1900-1973), a publisher who has been of great importance for the development of the Dutch book in the 20th century. It appeared in twelve issues, from 1940-1942. Every contribution to the periodical was printed and presented separately to show particular aspects of typeface, printing, illustration and paper. Original woodcuts, etchings, copper engravings and lithographies, often by well-known artists were added.
