contents: The famous Elzevier publishing house was known for, among other things, its typographically well-presented editions for a learned public in the small 24mo format. Although the small format saved on costs, each book was provided with an engraved title page. Even in the seventeenth century these Elzevier engravings were a favourite collector's item.
