contents: This hand-coloured copper engraving is from a children `s book in five languages in which matters of a diverse nature, including various crafts, are discussed. In the accompanying text there is an explanation of how the copper plate is cut and prepared and subsequently printed on the wooden hand press. The art of the copperplate printer consists mainly in his making good and clear impressions or prints from the plates, which depends on the quality of the ink, the strength of the press and the precision of the printers'.
