contents: The pages of this octavo booklet were only printed on one side because the illustration showed through on the reverse side. The paper did, however, have to go through two different presses: a separate plate press had to be used for the copperplates. The copperplates are from the second half of the seventeenth century: just as the same woodblocks were endlessly used for woodcuts, it was also quite common for old copperplates to be used again and again.
