contents: Christopher Plantin (1520-1589) possessed a beautiful collection of punches and matrices made by the very best typecutters of his time. He lent his material out to colleagues, but also sold duplicates. His successors, on the other hand, did consider this material to be a unique possession that could only be used by the Plantin printing house.
