contents: The Leiden Officina Plantiniana, which was established in 1584 by Christopher Plantin, was continued after 1586 by his son-in-law, Franciscus Raphelengius. He had one of the best-equipped printing houses in the Northern Netherlands which was especially well known for the high quality of its academic output and the well-produced, humanist, typography. The title page of this folio edition of a work by the most famous scholar of Leiden university was printed in two colours and contains a nicely etched vignette with Plantin's printer's device.
